Prior to 1850, nearly all the cheese produced in the United States was Cheddar. Cheddar production in Wisconsin began in the mid 1800's and by 1880, more Cheddar was produced in Wisconsin than any other cheese variety. Today it accounts for a large percentage of the cheese made in the state, which makes Wisconsin the leader in U.S. Cheddar production.

I consider myself, somewhat of an amateur cheese affectionado. I can say without a doubt, that ALL of Widmere's Cheese's are THE BEST my family have ever tasted! Several times per year, my family, and in laws alike, ask me.... when are your ordering more of that GOOD cheese? Several of my family members request it as a Xmas/bday gift. That should say something about this quality company and it's product!!!
Incredible!

Recently received an order of 6 year and 10 year white cheddar. We love it !! I enjoy either with a glass of Apothic Red. It is hard to fine a nice aged cheese in my part of Louisiana. Widmer's will hear more from me.
Simply Outstanding!

Purchased at Mariano's in Arlington Heights, IL, Widmer's Ten Year Old Cheddar is perhaps the best cheese of its kind I have ever tasted! Intensely sharp with a creamy-smooth yet crumbly texture. It pairs quite nicely with Taylor Fladgate 10 Year Old Tawny Port.
WOW....

My family and I have been blown away by the 6yr aged cheddar. It is the best cheddar we have ever tasted. Simply shred some over a piping hot baked potato and enjoy. Thanks widmer.

As mentioned, I have had my share of outstanding cheese. Without a doubt, I am somewhat of a cheese snob.
I had tasted Widmer's cheese before (impossible to live in Wisconsin for this amount of time without having had Widmer's) and was completely blown away by their curds.
But this is easily the BEST cheese I have ever tasted. Absolutely perfect. I'm hooked! My compliments to Widmer's.
