Description
8 Year Aged Cheddar 1 lb Heritage: Prior to 1850, nearly all the cheese produced in the United States was Cheddar. Cheddar production in Wisconsin began in the mid 1800’s and by 1880, more Cheddar was produced in Wisconsin than any other cheese variety. Today it accounts for a large percentage of the cheese made in the state, which makes Wisconsin the leader in U.S. Cheddar production. Description: Rich, nutty flavor becomes increasingly sharp with age. Smooth, firm texture becomes more granular and crumbly with age. Usually golden; also available white. Slice for sandwiches, snacks, shred into casseroles, soups, sauces.

It’s really been difficult to find a great sharp cheddar, my favorite cheese flavor. After trying a few other places, I found Widmer cheese. Com on the internet and gave it a try. They were great about making sure the shipping arrived safely and in a timely manner. And the cheese itself was everything I expected and more. Rich, Sharp, flavor and just enough moisture in a well-sealed package. I know right where I’m getting my next order:-)

If you’re reading this, you appreciate good cheddar and likely already know that Widmer’s is among the best. So I’ll be brief: When I want cheese, I come here for Widmer’s 10-year and 8-year cheddars, I don’t bother anymore with anything else. Life’s too short. Bless.

Oh this 8 years old cheddar is wonderful. So smooth it melts in my mouth.
It’s as good as Widmers other great cheddars. I love it, I love it.

Widmar’s cheese is exactly what I expect with no weird flavor. It’s straight up the real stuff. I’ve tried to 4, 6, 8, and 10 year and they’re all good. I also have 1 and 2 year to try yet. I’m going to make some cheese and macaroni with them and taste a bit of them before grating up rest for my dish. I wasn’t a fan of yellow either. It seems they’re basically the same except for coloring, but the white cheese just seems a little drier to me.

I am not a huge fan of yellow cheddar (I much prefer extra sharp aged white), but this is the best yellow I’ve had. I recommend it highly.

Excellent taste and texture, read the reviews from the 10 yr old cheddar.
